Pediatric Psychologist in Adolescent Medicine

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Department of Pediatrics, Section of Adolescent Medicine, is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month tenure-track faculty appointment on the Clinical Educator pathway.  As part of this position, the successful candidate will serve as Director of Psychological Services within Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s multidisciplinary outpatient Adolescent Clinic and Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Program.  The Adolescent Clinic serves adolescents ages 12-21, and provides primary and specialized medical care as well as psychological services.  The Eating Disorders Program provides treatment of eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Eating Disorder NOS, to children and adolescents up to the age of 21.  In addition to administrative duties and supervision of master’s level clinicians, the candidate will provide psychological services within both clinics, including diagnostic assessment, individual and group psychotherapy.  On the Clinical Educator tenure-track pathway, the successful candidate will also be expected to be productive in the areas of teaching and research.  The teaching component largely entails provision of education on psychology and medicine topics to pediatric residents through a variety of methods, including web based course curriculum, seminars and direct bed-side observation.  The area of research is open.  The successful candidate must have completed a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, be license eligible in the State of Arkansas and have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents across the diagnostic spectrum.  Knowledge and experience in the area of eating disorders in children and adolescents is required.  Interested applicants should send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae and the names of three professional references to:  Brian Hardin, MD, e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
